What college looks best on a resume?
Asked by Joe T
I am planning to get my four-year degree in Accounting. Which college is the most challenging ( offers the most knowledge) and which looks the best on resume: LSU, McNeese, Nicholls State, or UL-Lafayette? I am strongly divided between UL-Lafayette and Nicholls because of the value of getting the most education for the money.

Getting the most education for the money is really a matter of opinion. What many people don't realize is that by starting off at a community college and paying less than $20 a unit and transferring to ANY university in two years you've saved your self so much money/debt that you'll be way ahead of your peers financially when you graduate. And as an accounting major, I'm sure you can appreciate that! Suzy Orman a well known financial expert has been offering this advice publicly as well. I know this won't be a popular answer because you worked your bum off to get into good schools and because some ill informed people attach a negative stigma to CC's but its the hard truth in terms of financial saving. If you don't have a complete scholarship or if mom and and dad aren't taking care of the entire bill consider the CC route. The diploma you receive when you get your bachelor's degree at the University does not show any sign of starting off at a CC and often times you are more prepared and get much better grades tackling University after a couple years. Smarter route than some people give it credit for.
